Budget 2009

A week is a long time in politics and that’s for sure. We lost the disability allowance for our children payable when they turn sixteen and then with sheer determination of families and the professional representation by our own CEO, JOHN LINSAY, to the MINISTER-the decision was reversed. Bravo to all those involved in the presentation made by RTE.We fight so hard to improve things for our children and while a lot has improved in the last twenty years, surely we should always HOLD WHAT WE HAVE. Some parents felt that this money was a lot to give a sixteen year old and would distract their child from making an effort to secure employment or a course of some kind. I would give anything for this to be the case but alas it is not.
