Travelling with Special Needs

There are a few resources available to families travelling with children and adults with special needs. US website www.specialglobe.com is trying to address that. The website is relatively new and is an online forum where parents/carers can exchange tips and suggestions on how best to manage all aspects of a holiday for families with a member who has special needs. The forum currently only deals with US destinations, but is looking to expand it's reach across the globe.

Tag Rugby

There are a number of new opportunities in tag rugby for children with disabilities in the county.
Seapoint RFC (based in Kilbogget Park), De la Salle Palmerston (based in Kilternan) and Greystones RFC are beginning tag rugby sessions with children with intellectual disabilities and mild physical disabilities over the coming weeks. There will be league and blitz opportunities and camps with the Leinster Branch throughout the year also.
If you and your child are interested, give me a buzz and I'll pass on the coach's details for your nearest session.
Kind Regards, Phena O'Connor, Sports Inclusion Disability Officer, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Sports Partnership.
